Growing up in Michigan, I often heard about performance as production numbers and job titles. It appeared words like “performance” and “team” were jazzy buzzwords; collaboration was doing what you were told, strategy was copying your competitor, leadership was your boss, and fitness mattered little… if anything at all. This approach may generate results, however, in Deviate we aim to produce lasting performance using several tools that are anything but buzzwords.

For seven years, I was tasked to generate positive performance in a 280,000-member organization, SigEp, with the intention of creating real, lasting cultural changes on 250 college campuses nationally. I tried off-track strategies and found incredible value by deviating from the norm.

I realized the power of using these tools to impact individuals, even unwilling ones, in a positive way. While each group is different, improved performance starts with developing a better framework with direction and purpose.

Fitness became my first tool leading my personal transformation; I adopted a healthy life-style and have maintained a 60-pound weight loss since 1998 which led to greater levels of energy, confidence, and productivity. I know, first-hand, how personal transformation drives organizational performance.

Prior to founding Deviate, I had the pleasure to build relationships with remarkable individuals who possess extraordinary talents. They are my Team and Coaches; they make Deviate special. They are passionate about making a difference; they will engage, challenge, and inspire you.

If you're looking for a different approach to leadership development; if you need a new perspective on personal growth; if your organization is ready to create lasting change, get in the game with Deviate. We've got your back and will take you off-track on purpose to achieve positive results.
